I'me trying a new contraption on my CD HID light canister. I used to hold the canister in the pouch provided with it which had a webbing loop at the back. The problem was that the loop was way too big and a plastic retainer or buckle would go through it. I have since removed the pouch, put two rings of inner tubing 5 cm apart on the cylinder, one jubilee clip on each ring, and two cable ties looped inside the 2 jubilee clips. the harness webbing goes through the first tie clip loop, then onto a plastic retainer, then through the second tie clip loop. It is held securely in place, but if I absolutely had to ditch it I could cut the tie clips or pull hard to release it.
