I had a similiar thing on a VFR as well funnily enough. I hit a Vauxhall senetor head on. I crushed the tank which split my knob open, luckily it wasn't that serious and its on top form now.. My bollocks escaped unscathed thank god. Unfortunately my spine didn't and I damaged 4 vertebrae. It still gives me grief to this day(was 8 years ago)and I really have to look after my back. After a week of long dives it just isn't fun anymore if I've got weight in the wrong place.

I've managed to get an HSE medical no problem though, I told them my history and passed the fitness tests fine. You should be fine do the physio and make it strong again.
Good luck.
John
