I'm sure that you've gotten the closed-circuit (one-way valve) type of surface marker from Halcyon, if you check I think you'll find that your DS feed does in fact inflate the bag.... it can be orally inflated though and the 3.3 only takes a couple of breathes to achieve this, whereas I went dizzy inflating the big bugger that I have....

Andrew Georgitsis orally inflated the 3.3 during a fundamentals class just for a laugh and it took him seconds although I personally wouldn't recommend it, the direct feed is so much easier..
