Indeed - couldn't agree more.
I used to buy into the old GI3 mantra of putting 300-bar valves onto 232-bar tanks but now I think it's just asking for trouble (nowt as pure as a reformed whore and all that). Stick to 232-bar valves on 232-bar cylinders as it'll give the bottle monkey one less opportunity to kill himself...
