I'm the same - I always insist that cylinders come back from servicing *without* any stickers attatched - where I place them is my choice. As Fiona says, you're better off sticking all the stickers on the inside to keep the visible area as clear as possible. Not only does it look nicer but it'll also protect the stickers from damage. As stickers go, I prefer to use those lovely dinky little BSAC cylinder stickers that they sell on the BSAC stand at Dive Shows for about 25p per sticker...
