| The only time I stayed in a non-diving place in Sharm was a few years ago when we stayed at the Hilton Farouz. The rooms are bungalows set in gardens and it is very posh and not too expensive.
As for things to do for non-divers...... well there's :
snorkelling
Swimming
boat trips (from the Hilton beach, daily I think)
Aqua aerobics
desert trips for dinner in a bedouin camp
desert trips on camel or horse
Desert trips on quad bikes
trips to St Catherine's monastery
And lying on a sun bed sunbathing or reading.
The Hilton Farouz does have its own dive centre but is easy waliking distance to Oonas divers, Camel and a few other good dive centres. Most pick up from your hotel.
All the sea front hotels are pretty posh if you like that sort of thing. Personally, I prefer spit and sawdust, laid back places and would prefer Dahab to Sharm any day. Sharm is now like Blackpool full of twittering Italians and Russians. And you can't walk a few paces without people trying to sell you things.
Another thing that has spoilt Sharm over the last 10 years is the fact that they have tried to make gardens on thesea front (in a natural desert) so previously mosquito -free places are now mosquito city and you may get bitten to death!!!!!!
Don't want to put you off, it's still OK but I think Sharm is a bit over-rated and spoiled.
