Not just you... It's all of us at some point in time. This was the major motivation behind getting the SPUMS collection actually. The SPUMS Journal started out as a newsletter and turned into the great publication that it is today. The articles are written on a level that makes the science much easier to handle.

This is a great idea but (there is always a but), we have worked hard at a great personal expense so this work can be free. That said, it is also worth mentioning that the UHMS Diving Committee has been working on several 'lay reviews' of important papers from the last few years. We don't have an ETA on the project yet but the chair (Simon Mitchell) should be getting back to us soon with more direction. This should quite nicely fit your request.
