Good authority? Come on Rob - who? Someone who sells mCCRs perhaps?

Don't mistake an open mind and an interest in emerging technologies as any indication of any change of policy for GUE. And equally, don't mistake GUE and the WKPP - one is a training agency, the other a very sucessful dive team. There is no secret that the WKPP was considering some form of CCR technology as one possible option of extending dive time at Wakulla. Casey and Jarrod talked happily and openly of looking at all possibilites at the conference in Budapest as at the end of the day they are pragmatists and have long considered all options.

Post Budapest, CCR, mechanical or otherwise, has now been rejected as they have come up with a different solution which will give them the additional time that they need for a while. As far as the future holds - like you say - who knows? Most people involved in the project are open minded enough not to say never but don't mistake that for a hidden agenda - it's just simply not the case.

What is certain, is GUE as a training agency have no plans to embrace any form of CCR. Why would they - there are many agencies who already train divers in CCR who believe that it is an appropriate tool for recreational diving. GUE do not.

It was good to catch up with a few people. Bloody cold but guess I'll be seeing quite a bit of quarries for a while until I can get back to Florida in a few weeks time.
