NIMH, are greener. Nicad delivers faster discharge so supposedly better for high power torchs/tool etc but has more of a drop of if left for a day or days, this is called the memory effect. NIMH is greener and in most cases the difference is fairly negligible.
I am sure a clever electronic person will contradict all I have said except for the green bit. So NIMH for me
