NiMH are better than NiCads. They are a newer technology and have significantly larger capacity for the same physical size. NiCads are a thing of the past !

LiIons are the way forward but due to different voltage cells you cant currently use then to replace normal dry cells. A few manufacturers are starting to use them in there new rechargable torches though. They are considerably smaller still than NiMH and much lighter.

I cant believe that some manufactures still sell lead acid torches. How primative.
