| here in Ireland we have had an environmental levy put on plastic carrier bags and it really has cleaned up the over use and deposal of plastic bags it started out at 15c per bag but has since increased to 22c the government make about 20 million per year out of it to put back into cleaning up the environment. for them a suppose 20mil isn’t a large sum of revenue so the emphasis is on decreasing bag use and litter it from being in the retail trade for 16 years I can see that it dose work.
