I'd be 100% in favour of capital punishment BUT the legal system would have to be perfect for that.
If it could be guaranteed that no innocent person would ever be executed i'd by screaming for the rooftops for it to be introduced. However no justice system particularly the UK is robust enough to guarantee the above.

Yes some cases such as the Wests, Shipman, Huntley and so on i'd love to see hang and there is no doubt as to their guilt. However the further down you dig the more blurred that line becomes and eventually there's going to be a point where someone is convicted and the evidence isn't as overwhelming as for the above. Where do you draw the line to absolutely ensure you never kill an innocent?

I've got a real issue about this. Im 100% in favour of ridding the earth of scum by using it but its not worth it if even 1 innocent person was executed.
