hi ben . its safe on a live aboard . its also safe if the person is within the tourist area ie hotel ,dive center , restraunt and drinking .

i have been there afew times . i have fallowed the group down the town after a nap and left early when been tired , its safe enough for a man ,butwomen do get pestered by the locals a bit . its a fine place to go even on ur own .

tell your friend its a tourist friendly place and not 2 belive all that he may read . the news always depicts the bad side of life .

no news is good news
