rarely gets below 29C at night... You lucky B*****d. It rarely gets above 13C at 12.00 in July here in the UK. I have no sympathy whatsoever!

On the topic of batteries, their rate of self discharge (NiMH) is about 1% a day or so and varies slightly with temperature. just keep your battery somewhere in the shade/dry. Maybe also recharge it a bit more often, say 15-20 days - in case you go that long without diving...
