Right, i've just cut a couple of plans really quickly. Without going into the best gases for the depths you are diving (as thats a whole different thread), i've chosen 2 gases as an example.......Air and 50% Nitrox, with 10% safety added to the settings, and a 30 odd minute bottom time..This is where you've got to start being realistic with your planning.......

ok - first example then.....Everything is fine and everything goes to plan......These are the sort of times you'll get.




Now this one.....everything is going to plan, and then...Oops.....Deco gas has gone and i can't use it anymore, and i'm all by myself....Do i have have enough backgas to complete my deco....I know i don't, hence the spare tin i carry..........Look at the time difference between the two........

My final bailout plan if i forget everything else is to breath what i've got, and when it runs out, get back to the surface. I don't really have much choice what happens then
