| Just on the flip side of this, my son was involved in a road traffic accident on Thursday night when ha was struck amidships by another car. I received a phone call from his uncle who was at the scene and drove down my self. The police were at the scene and had requested an ambulance for my son. The guy who phoned me offered to take photos of the scene for the insurance company. Using his phone he started taking snaps of the general layout from a distance, when he was approached by the PC and told not to take anymore, he explained that he was my son’s uncle and that it was for the insurance company but was again told by the PC not to take anymore. I could not see the sense in this so made a quick phone call to get advice and was informed that you can only be stopped in certain circumstances and I couldn’t see where these fitted in to this case. I then asked toe PC under what grounds did he stop the guy taking photos, he then said that the driver of the car that hit my son had asked him to tell him not to take photos of her car. I again asked him under what grounds was he stopping him, he looked a bit stunned and then said it was ok to take them. |
