I don't condone the actions of the man taking pictures of the scene with his phone but i have to defend photography. What many are advocating here is tantamount to censorship and a further erosion of civil liberties. Photographers are already viewed as potential terrorists by many security guards and police around city centres. Photography has an important role to play in recording events for posterity as well as informing us about the present.
