as I just had an email from a friend in NZ talking about the same thing.
He was knocked off his bicycle by a car (cars fault as pulled out of a car park). The "nice" driver hopped out to offer assitance. By "assistance" I mean steal my friends bag and rifle through his pockets, steal his wallet and drive off calling him a "wan**r".
A passer by called an ambulance and police. A broken leg later and a healthy disrespect for the honesty of some people, he has since discovered that his bike has now gone missing.
