There are different fins for different jobs. If your diving calls for frog kicks, a slick reverse gear and helicopter turns you need rigid fins but you pay the price in a straight line swim against current.

I have three sets, a jet fin look-alike so solid you could beat somebody to death with it, a set of freediving fins a meter long and my new toy, silly little force fins that work annoyingly well except that I haven't mastered corners yet.

Actually I think it's just part of the great diving plot to seperate me from my money. Every time I buy fins it costs me 50% more than last time.
