Were they actually big?

What kind of muisc ? Metal, rock, progressive ? Like Slade, Cream, UFO ???? Can't be like all of them and Blimey UFO ! I'd forgotten about them

Lead singer has a gravelly voice but it isn't Lee Marvin. Like Jo Cocker ? Joe Walsh ? Oh no, British. So that's Steve Miller out. Yes ? As in the band Yes.

Were they 'popular' ? On Top of the Pops ?

Free - they were good
What kind of instruments ? Straight stuff or keyboards and 'extras'?
