However, I was told some years ago that if you're going to lend a friend money you should be willing to give it to them.
If you hold that view on lending then it ain't so bad when you can't get it back. Along with, if you think of it that way and wouldn't give the money, then don't lend it.
Sound advice I thought, particularly as I was always being stung like that with people who said they were "friends"
