| VR3 Colour screen or not?

I am keen to buy a VR3 (OC trimix) having done the research - however the jump in price for the colour screen does seem a lot. My two regular dive shops have told me that I would be a fool to buy a monochrome screen (something to do with the onset of accomodation in my eyesight - however I am resisting reading glasses at the moment!!!). I use my old Aladin Ultra and my daughters Gekko without any problems and just wondered if anybody could add some advice over the £200 extra the colour screen costs.
It would be great to dive with both at the same time to try but that is unlikely. One seasoned chap told me he used to have difficulty reading his monochrome VR3 screen but could see his buddy's colour version better while hanging on the line below him during deco! Is this just sales talk? |
