Being well strapped in is only good in theory, when the plane suddelny makes a manouvre that you weren't expecting the instinct to brace and hold to something is pretty powerful

. I had a fantastic time with Chris, and my sincere thanks to him. I don't think I whimpered once but I will admit to a couple of interesting moments when Chris demonstrated a stall and also moving in and out of thermals was interesting as the sensory inputs don't always confirm what the instruments or even your eyes are telling you. Chris also offered the helpful advice/request that if I needed to upchuck, could I do it into my hat as planes too ages to clean. From the winch launch we released at 1000 feet (2 too fat b4stards according to Chris) and Chris went hunting for rising air. I was consious that we were moving away from the airfield but it wasn't until we had gained some height that Chris told me that we had been too low to get back. I'm very very tempted to get more involved, it's a fabulous world up there and anyone who is willing should come down on Chris' charity night and challenge him to make them whimper.
