This is the bit i have a problem with. Thinking completely selfishly, why would i provide something for another diver, if they haven't done it for themselves?

I think i would be royally pissed off if my drop bottle went down to another diver, and a few minutes later it transpired i needed it myself. I would (obviously) have no problem in anyone breathing any of my O2, provided I am safely back on the boat, and in a position to decide i don't need it myself.

I'm sorry if that sounds selfish, but if I can go to the effort of sorting this out, and looking after myself, not relying on another diver shouldn't others?
Only coz we dive as a team and have one drop bottle on the boat. Its gonna be a real bad day if more than 1 buddy pair need it.

The other thing is we religiously all come back to the shotline and deco is all done on a trapeze. So if anyone has a problem 99% of time another diver is around with gas to assist. Therefore the drop bottle is for the realy poor sod who has had a major problem and missed the shot.

Only my humble opinion, i cannot wait for the flack to fly!!!!!!!!!
