Wow! That and Scubee's post has really quite gob-smacked me.... and I'm really not sure how to answer as it is not anything I have ever considered from that perspective.
I guess I have never looked at it as "mine" - as where we have used them I have tended to dive with a group of mates who I have dived with for a number of years and it is just a standard bit of kit for our deep dives and not "anyones" per se. If someone needs it; it is deployed. Then deal with the next isue that comes along.
Having said that I think i would be a bit narked off, if I had one on a YD trip which I had rigged and someone needed it whilst I was under but it wasn't deployed because folk were waiting for me to get back on the boat to give the okay to use it....
It is very unlikely that that 2 would be needed at once, although I just hope that someone would have the gumption to jury rig one for me (or anyone else) there and then; they aren't difficult to put together in a flash.
