Also, he can only be 'advised' by a hyperbaric doctor and the final call on treatment rests with him. No-one wants to spend 5+ hours in a pot and have their whole week-end fcuked-up but if any of you made me 'waste' a day at the pot 'cos you thought I was bent I wouldn't complain... 'cos even if you were wrong, you were right!

If it were as simple as this for me id have jumped in the pot many many times. Its perhaps necessary to take a step back from your professional situation and remember us amateurs who are still doing aggressive diving.
If I went to the pot apart from the logistical nightmare my wife would be demanding my instant cessation of all diving and re iterating how bloody selfish i am to go diving with small children in my family.
Its hard to explain to a PADI )W diver that its just a precaution and no big deal when she associates being bent with instant death and wheel chares.
I am bloody selfish going diving when I have small kids and i don't need the wife having more ammo to try and stop me.
QED when i go to the pot id like to know I am at least more than 50% likely to be bent and its not my knackerd old body playing up again.
The three times i have been to whips cross and the two times i have been potted the wife doesn't know about. She thinks i was at work.
They asked for reasions why id risk self assesmnet or assement by a buddy i trusted. This is a reasion. If this reasion dosent affect you I cant expect you to understand. All i ask is people understand its not denial pride or ego. I am sick of being acused of that.
