We flew with SA two weeks ago (came back on Sat) and were catagorically told that 20kg was the maximum allowance, and that we'd be stiffed for every kilo over that.
We took our regs in our hand luggage (you're allowed two pieces ie rucksack and camera bag/laptop case/handbag etc) and they didn't weigh it.
