Question using remote assistance MSN style

Ok I am trying to help my Dad out on his PC and I want to use the MSN remote assistance tool

Dad has clicked on the ask for remote assistance wizard, set up a password than we both can use. I have received the email, double clicked the little file and entered the correct password, but I can't gain access to his machine.

Dad is using Vista, MSN and broadband
I am using XP, MSN messenger, and broadband
Web cam is working find, as is broadband at both ends

I have resorted to Dad aiming his web cam at the screen, but the image is not so great and a little shaky. Dad is in his 70's and loves this web chat video conferencing stuff, just wish I could control his PC to do the job he wants.

Any ideas what to try.
