suunto stinger diy battery change

found yesterday that the battery in my stinger was kaput and being on our way to sharm on sunday i had no time to send it back to suunto so did a bit of digging around and found this Smartinterface - Ihr Webshop für Tauchzubehör

and this http://www.smartinterface.de/downloa...luessel_uk.pdf

but didnt have enough time to get it sent from germany so i made my own bench for the casing to sit in consisting of four nails knocked into a piece of 3x2 and cut off with a grinder, the tool for removing the casing i made from a piece of flat steel about 5mm thick by 2 1/2 inch wide i drew around the casing of the stinger and then drilled 3 4.5mm holes to correspond with the lugs on the lunette of the computer on opposing sides ie like the corners of a triangle, i screwed 3 allen headed m5 x 20mm grub screws into the holes and left them protruding about 4mm on the other side then i fitted the casing into the holder and unscrewed the lunette, the battery is a cr2430 but i bought a battery and o ring kit for a suunto oxyspy the battery is the same and the o ring is the same one that goes under the glass of the stinger the most fiddly bit is getting the new o ring to sit in the groove under the glass face but its back together now at a total cost of a couple of hours and about £8
