The *best* torch out there today in terms of power is probably the Salvo 50W HiD. Would you want that in gin clear waters? Dunno - possibly over kill and only 4hrs burn time, so a 21W with more burn time might be better.


To put the above in perspective a 21W salvo is like using a sledge hammer to peel a bannana in the Mexico Caves.


10W HID is plenty. 50W Halogen is more than adiquate. 21W HID is a light saber and aking to using a Farari F355F1 with race clutch and paddle shift for the school run, but its still and epic torch and many people will salavate over it.


Also consider the LED torches. Not the light sabers like the HIDS but bomb proof bulbs and excellent burn times.

The Salvo LED or Solus 1250 would be my money no object choice. The 10W Halcyon Proteus 3 HID would be my budget choice
