| About 27 years ago, I was coming out of a turn on a country road in Cheshire which had limited visibility. As I pulled away as fast as I could this car came screaming around the bend and nearly ran into my back end - I was doing 50 by this time. He swung passed me and pulled right across in front of me such that I had to brake violently and almost ran into him. By the time I had recovered, he had leapt out of his car, pulled my door open and punched me violently in the side of the face. He then slammed the door shut and smashed his knee as hard as he could into my door panel, expecting to cave it in.
Unfortunately for him, it was a Saab 99, one of the first cars to be fitted with side impact protection bars! There was a loud howl and he collapsed into the road screaming and holding his knee at which point, I reversed rapidly and drove off!
