Throwing the drop tank at the yellow blob is almost guarenteed to fail
In UK viz you could easily miss the tank. With UK sea you could have a diferance in surface current to deep current. It just wouldent work
You are waiting for the pull on the line you release the line to let the skiper lift it and clip on and the tank comes right to you.
Its not a problem.
Most skippers I know have a great deel of common practical sense especialy with dealing with roap and such. The diver needs to keep the line under control as well you dont want a load of slack out.
Drop the tank in, let it sink, then release the SMB back into the water.
