I'd only tried it a few times before so not sure about muscle memory. I didn't do special excercises or anything. I just made sure that this time I did a bit more stretching before getting in the water. Apart from getting the limbs ready for a stretch I think that might help with making sure that my undersuit was not bunched up anywhere. Also, it was certainly easier with a more horizontal trim -- I could actually push the tanks up my back a little bit to get them that little bit closer to my hands.
Now I know it's possible for me I'll try to do it on every dive now till it becomes second nature!
