Only time I've had this problem has been due to either the outer part of the dump not being screwed down tightly enough, or there being a poor seal on the diaphragm either due to salt build up or grit getting trapped in there.

Don't have a thick undersuit, so don't need to put loads of air into suit, so maybe this helps limit the opportunity for water ingress.
I also notice I hardly seem to get much water into my BCD yet others doing the same profile etc have loads to drain out after the dive.

How does that work?
