Hi,

The first stop will be rounded up to the next full minute boundary, because your bottom timer only reads in minutes. That first stop will be a sub minute on most plans. From there, your now in sync with the bottom timer and all stops times will be on a full minute boundaries for the rest of the ascent.

The 30 sec or 6m deeper stops, for deep dives with stops over 30m, it gives some flexibility to avoid the 1 min staircase stops that these dives can have in the initial stops.
