| I'd vote for Halcyon, and I am a dealer as well.
Why?
Well, for a start, I've used Halcyon 10W and 18W lights now since around 2002. I've used Pro14 and Pro3 lead acid canisters, most of the NiMH battery packs. My current main light is the 9Ah 18W, with the dry lid.
The dry lid is an awesome development, as it prevents the battery compartment flooding in the event of a cord getting cut or nicked. This is a common failure point on these lights, whatever the manufacturer. Given the price of a replacement of a NiMH battery pack, I now consider this is a crucial addition to the light. It also means the light will go on working if the cable insulation is cut. A flooded battery compartment in salt water will eventually lead to the light going out.
I fail to understand the concerns over the fragility of the WA bulb. I fly a lot, and my light goes into checked baggage, in soft luggage. I dive RIBs, throw my gear into the back of the car, lend out the light to people, and generally give my gear a pretty hard time. I have NEVER had a bulb fail due to transit (mis) handling. I have had one bulb fail after several years of use, and one spare bulb fail that was in my spares kit with a pile of spanners, allen keys and other such junk.
With all of this in mind, the good existing product, the continuous product development, I see no reason to change my brand, and every reason to support Halcyon. It also drove my choice when I looked at which manufacturers products to sell.
