Phew good recovery there Madfish.
here's how i saw it.
2 buddy pairs diving as a group. Me supervising group overall.
Assembled group on Bottom, Do a quick count 1, 2, 3 That's great all are pres....Hang on, wheres the youngfella gone.
Into seperation drill Look around for 30 secs, Give signal for all to surface at correct rate.
Get to surface and youngfella is on the boat.
Asked what happened and reply was " My ears were hurting so I came up abit to clear them and when I got em cleared I couldnt see you so surfaced" Not exact words but you get the drift.
Didn't let me or his buddy know his ears were in trouble but like has been said before, it's inexperience, but doubt he'll make the same mistake again.

Don't beat yourself up over the ther lad. What did you expect??? After all he had to chip in for fuel FFS!!! Sure them boats run them selves!!!
