Suunto Dive Manager - question about downloading dives

I use a Vyper in gauge mode and have recently bought a download cable in order to download profiles.

Last night I installed Suunto Dive Manager 2.6 and connected up the Vyper. After cleaning the contacts I managed to get it to link up and it indicated that the Vyper had recorded 221 dives, max depth etc.

On downloading the dives, it recorded 49 dives in the dive log. That's fine, I expected to see all the dives that the Vyper still had data for, clearly the 221 dives is just recorded in some sort of header file and the data for most has been overwritten by more recent dives.

However, there were 5 dives from 2000 (before I owned the Vyper) and then 44 more recent dives, but not the most recent. It didn't download any dives later than the middle of last year although they are shown in the Vyper's dive log.

I no longer bother logging dives, so I'm not really concerned about these more recent ones. I do, however want to download more interesting dives to analyze profiles etc.

I'm just puzzled as to what's going on and am concerned that I won't be able to get at the dives I do henceforth.

Anyone got a clue about what might be going on before I try Suunto?
