Your motherboard is made up of lots of different components - the inbuilt Soundcard being one of them. The inbuild soundcard part is manufactured by Realtek and the product is called the AC97.

So the drivers are in that file you downloaded.

I am surprised that after installing them - they didn't work..

The model number you quoted above is definitely the right one yes?
