This ensures that the cable is neatly routed across your body from the canister to your left hand when torch is in use and means that if you don't want to clip the head off whilst you are doing something (ie drop it) then the head is only a little way beneath you.

Sounds simple. I'll give it a try.
Main thing is tidying up for water entry/ascents when the torch is not in use, but when you are most likely to be doing something (like sending a blob up or getting in!!) that you could tangle with.
