I think, to be fair, people have lives outside diving. My life outside diving seems to consist of earning the wherewithall to go diving, but that's another matter! Yes, there were others who expressed an interest but couldn't make it. Hopefully they'll be there next time....and bring a friend!

John and I had a really good couple of days. From my own perspective, it was good to meet some other divers in Scotland who aren't going to have kittens if they come across me and my long hose, single-piece harness and twins. I've also been trying to talk my mother into a backplate and wing for several years...and if you can't do the "You don't need this, this, this, this or this" trick with a member of the immediate family, who can you do it to? Unfortunately I don't think anyone got the "trophy photo" of the rejected pile of kit for me to use in evidence in the future!

And if anyone wonders why GUE-trained divers are often found in quarries or similar sheltered sites, you should have seen my attempt at a three-bottle-shuffle...not something you want to do for the first time with an hour of deco ahead of you! I should also point out that the pile of kit in front of John's truck in Stewart's photo consists of my kit, John's still being in the back of his truck! Unfortunately we didn't get a picture of the latter as it left my house, loaded for our cave trip to France next week. And apparently there are two standard-body Gavin's going in there too!

Great couple of days. Thanks to Grigor, Steve and Davie for coming along. And to my mum...!

Iain
