| I'm looking for a single wing for the wife who is just starting to dive,I use Halcyon gear myself but I don't want to spend that sort of money again on gear,I could get a cheap BC for her,but I know she doesn't like BC's,so I need to find something suitable for her.Cunning plan here, one happy diving wife = less nagging about me going diving.(you know what I mean don't you). | Dive Rite Transpac. Single tank compatable, comfortable and does most things. As used by my SO... Chris

| Have a look at this link from ebay. The guy is selling a number in all different sizes. I have had one for years which I use for holidays etc. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...1061 024&rd=1 ATB

| I also use the Halcyon wing (Eclipse) and if I had the option I would get the misses one of them as well. Luckily she bought her wing before I had mine, she uses a Buddy Travel wing. She only dives single cylinder but I've used it with a pony and got on fine with it. Cheap (£170 ish), great name and reliablity and works great as a back up for me!! I bought her some new regs last month, same as mine - she hasn't worked out yet that we've swopped! Andy

| I thaught the Halcyon rig was prety cheep. I have an OMS single tank rig which I beleive is a copy of the Halcyon 40lb wing. Its very nice too but not much in it between that and the Halcyon. I only got the OMS as I didnt want a single piece harnes. ATB Mark Chase

| My other passion is skiing. It's very common to see parents dressed in £1000s worth of Killy/Prada/Spyder gear with electrically heated gloves, hats, boots etc. picking up their kids from kindergarten (usually the worst for wear after a little apres ski) and the poor little buggers are cold, wet and miserable 'cos they're dressed in cheap crap from Matelan or Primark. If it's not good enough for you, chances are it's not good enough for your loved ones. [EDIT]My wife's O3 drysuit is better than my own[/EDIT] |
