Stainless twinning bands and ali cylinders

Maybe this should be in the travel forum, so the mods can move if necessary.

I am off to the Red Sea on a liveaboard in a few weeks. I intend to take my wing and to dive twin indies. I only have stainless steel twinning bands (for steel 12s) - I understand that the ali 12s in the Red Sea are a different diammeter to the steel 12s.

So, the question is - will taking the steel twinning bands be a waste of time (meaning I have to fork out for some cambands) or will I be alright with what I have got?

For background, I dive an OMS wing with an IQ pack.

Thanks in adavnce

I took my twin 12's bands out in 2000 on a liverboard and had no problem twinning them up with their ally bottles, you might be wise to take a shorter studding with you though as well as your standared one you use at the moment on your 12's

Have a good trip and what boat are you on

John

Thanks John. Hopefully I am worrying about nothing.

I am on the Emperor Asmaa doing the South and St Johns itinerary - it is an 8 day trip so hopefully plenty of dives will be squeezed in.
