| yes it is knackered or just something that has to be done on this harness? |

| Sorry I replied to a blank posting.....ignore me. I'm a little confused, the stab plates are mounted inside the harness to recieve the bolt from the twinning bands, so what do you mean you are using the plates instead of bands? Do you mean instead of a back plate or do you mean twinning bands instead of cambands? I use the plates with bands and have not needed to tighten them up once for a whole weeks diving. So if you have the same as me ( from the inside out......wing nut, washer, stabplate, harness, bolt, twinning bands, (twins), nut) then there is no reason to suggest they may work loose. If you are using the stab plates with any other rig then I don't think it would be what they are designed for and so could easily work loose. Hope this helps By the way....welcome aboard Conor

| On my twin 10s I found the Stabalising plates never held the material firmly against the tanks.....A heavy metal persuader (a.k.a a hammer) was needed to straighten them a little to ensure a good grip. HTH Mal |

| I too am a little confused by your posting? My plates are fine, and stay in place with no movement. I use them instead of a back plate and do not see how bands would make a difference? I feel you may be doing it wrong somehow, but would have to see it. You should possibly ask someone while you are out diving. James

| Sorry i use the stabilizer plates instead of the large cam bands to attach the twins. |
| ||||
| So you mean you have steel banded twins that have a bolt that passes through the harness and the plates before the wing nut? If yes, then there is no reason why they should be working loose. Where abouts are you based?

| sorted Hi Guys Seem to have sorted the problem with some brute force and some pliers. I used this set up in the pool for the first time on sunday and will have a couple more goes before i use them in a quarry for more practise. I would like to get the maximum fit for comfort. It was comfortable for some of the time but not all. I seemed to have some wobbly kit but managed to tighten the harness again while under. Any tips on get the most out of fitting this one? i am based in Gloucester Last edited by Ron Ravenhill : 24-10-05 at 11:22 AM. |
