After seeing all the posts in the last 12 months about Halcyon, I've decided that enough is enough. I think I've been converted a little to DIR and like the concept, so since my Zeagle wings are dying a little (I'm now fatter than I was 12 years ago when I bought them) I need some new'uns.

I quite fancy the Halcyon Explorer 55 or 70, with the Steel backplate, DIR harness and may even go the whole hog now I've got 2 regulators and get a twinset.

Questions are;
1: What goes with which (i.e. if I use twin 12 dumpys (which I already have)) can I just buy the kit and connect it all together?
2: Do I have to replace my valves if I want to manifold them?

Am I being a nonce? Answers on a postcard....!!

Any help / tips (especially mr Andy Dalesdiver) would be cool.

Thanx.

Well I am no expert and I am sure someone will come along who knows better than me but here goes.

Not too sure about twin dumpys,  this may put to much weight up top and make you too top heavy,  the profile will also be quite wide (no offence intended )  12l tall's maybe a better setup.

You maybe able to use the valves (or at least one of them).  To manifold the valves you will need a left hand and right hand valve, they also need to be modular so you can fit the manifold between the valves.  I have one modular valve that has the valve handle on one side and a screw in slug on the opposite side for a manifold.

Hope this helps,
Daz
