Will drop agir an email I think, the part cost enough and is unusable at the moment.
Give me a call and i will sort out your bracket

Mine is the same length but I don't use washers at all....looking at your washers, they seem quite thick, could you do without the washers? or only use the spring washer? Would that help?

Without the flat washer the spring washer cuts into the aluminium backplate. I'd rather keep the spring washer to keep it nice and tight. I've seen a wing come apart under water!!

The Halcyon wings come with washers don't they? So it's not like it's not standard.

Thanks John, appreciated. I might do if I can't get it working myself. It's not hugely important, I'm using the Frog STA at the moment. It's just the topic was raised and it's been annoying me for a while given what the part cost!

I've done a fair bit of diving like that with no problems but I do check the wing nuts are tight before I start.

My buddy has a Halcyon STA so I'll have a look when I can......

I hope you get a solution you are happy with because as travel STAs, they are brill.

This is of our standard kit. Bolt length is 25mm (20mm in "free air").
Regarding thickness in frog or h eyelets on the wing and one extra on the web(!), with 2 washers upon, I just don´t know.
Here is a picture

No washers then. Me no likey! I was taught to always use washers!

A diver in our club has an AGIR ali plate with very worn holes, now I know why...

The problem with not using an STA is that the cylinder (tank) tends to swing making it quite unstable!.

I use an OMS stainless BP with an STA and find it very comfortable and worth the extra weight penalty when traveling

Don't some backplates have a channel in them though to stop just that? I recall the Custom Divers backplate having this?

Try Red Hat Diving for a cheap ally backplate and Portland Oceaneering for some tank stabilisers.
