Lightweight STA and Back Plate

Hi there,

Im trying to get a lightweight STA for travel purposes, my steel one is taking up a considerable amount of luggage allowance. Anybody know where I can get one.

Also any opinions / reviews of the Dive Rite Ally Back plate.
How much does it weigh?

Thanks in advance

I don't think you can get lighter than the Agir single tank adaptor! Two individual brackets for bands that bolt to the plate. You can them here (sorry i can't link directly to them, but scroll down to the Travel Single Tank Adaptor). Try this instead

I've got an OMS aluminium plate which weighs about 1kg. There are slots in the plate and in my Apeks wing for cambands, so I don't need to use a STA.

The plate is £55 from DiveLife

Thats great!

Still gonna need a STA (Als recommendation seeming the best so far) as my Frog indigo wing does not have slots.

Anyone selling any of these things??

Cheers

Sorry, already sold my Agir pair as i've got a wing and plate with slots, and that's by far the lightest way!! The Agir ones are good though, you can unbolt the tank for filling and leave the bands in place on the tank which is handy.

My OMS aluminium plate weighs about 0.8kg, i think they are all much the same.

i would recommend Kent tooling as well, I have got a backplate and the STA (large heavy one) from them and they are ace! oh yeah got my indie banding system from KT as well. very well engineered pieces of kit

I was tempted by the smaller STAs for travel, maybe in the future....

hmm i'm not giving a biased opinion at all

I've got the diverite Ali plate and iirc its weight with nothing else is about 750g. I guess of its a huge issue you can get one of the toughened plastic types that niknaks and others sell.

I have the Agir ones and a frog backplate but the studs on the Agir STA don't seem to be long enough, which is annoying!
