Custom Diver or OMS wing?

Hi

I am a quite new to the diving seen and am looking at getting a wing. At the moment i'm looking at getting a custom diver TCW or a OMS 100LB Single Bladder, but dont know which is better. any help, with which is better, has anyone had any problem with either?

Do the Elastomeric Retraction Bands get snag easliy, because i have heard off a couple of people that they do?

And how effect is are the elasticated side panels at empting the air in the wing?

All help most appreciated.

100 lb massive. I have an OMS 45lb and it's plenty big enough. So do, er, 2 others out of the 12 on the boat. All diving twin 10/12 and stages.

I have the custom divers TDB & love it ,think it is 66lb lift . Have never had the bungee on that get caught & it is very good at emptying the air & pulling the wing back in

I think the two wings you have mentioned are way too big for ANYTHING BUT twinset diving with stage cylinders, something between 40-60lbs lift is more than adequate. Anything else is just big numbers for the sake of it. OMS do the same design wing but with half the lift. The custom divers wings look too big to me, but thats just me.

Check out a Dive Rite recwing, very versatile when you first get started. It will easily carry twin 12s and stages plus you can adjust the bungies on it to shrink it down tight for singles use. I personally have moved on to a wing that is specifically designed for twins but I have held on to the RecWing, its fantastic.

yeap got a twin bladder CD TCW, love it, no problems at all except I put a hole in the bladder once but that was fixed after advice from Alex at CD

side panels retract as the bungee is on the inside so no snagging
