i have a comando and love it for singles ...but i rarely use it nowadays i much prefair the freedom that a wing gives you...no cumbersome pockets and all the D rings are in there correct place.

I would suggest that if you are think along the tech diving route that you will end up with a plate and wing, so to save money in the longer term, you would be better off going straight there. Diving a wing/plate sytem is not limited to tech dives and is very comfortable to dive with a single tank..

Whether you go for bungeed or not, or whether it is a one piece harness or has break points should be to your own choice.

You will find arguments for and against all of the various options here in the forum, and all have their merits. Ultimately you should go with what you are comfortable with.

If possible, borrow / try several different types of rig before buying. If you are in a club, talk to the other members about their kit, and ask for reasons why they have it like they do. Listen to their opinions then make up your own mind and go for what suits you.

Cheers, John

I've used a buddy redwing very succesfully in the past and I have just the thing for you - a buddy redwing that can be used as, well, a buddy redwing but is also ready to go as wing with a backplate and harness - for you very good price

Cylinders and stuff

say 15 quid p&p to you sir!

I'm not going with the flow on this one I'm afraid. I dive both twin 10s and twin 7s with a Buddy Profile TD with a Redwing in between the cylinders & the Profile.

I use cambands & don't have a metal backplate, and I find the setup very comfortable & easy to dive with.

Picked up a redwing cheap 2nd hand and used it with a backplate and simple harness, it was my first break from jacket BCD's. Wing performed well and only ever used it with a single tank, the only down side was that it used to "hot dog" (tank wrap) and I had to roll around a little to get air in the side with the inflator. Eventually cured problem by being correctly weighted

Sold it on when I picked up my little 34lb Zeagle wing which I use for singles and keep an OMS dual for my twin setup.
