Another "What Wing?" Thread - Sorry

Hey guys, just looking for a bit of advice on a few wings that I'm considering.
Usually, I dive a single cylinder on an Aqualung BCD, but it gets a bit much when I'm using a 15ltr + pony. I also desire a 10ltr twinset (it's my 21st, why shouldn't I treat myself!?), but I'd like a wing that can replace my BCD. i.e. a wing that I can both single or twin on.

A few I'm considering are the Buddy Trident, Poseidon BeSea W40/50, Audaxpro Area51/? amongst others.
I'd like one with some sort of pocket, as well as a few D-rings so that I can sling in the future when my diving demands of it, and I's like a really comfy harness (like the poseidon). I don't particularly want to have integrated weights.

So basically an all-rounder that will fit my current and future diving.

Also, any suggestions for shops/suppliers in the midlands that will allow me to try before I buy?

Cheers in advance,

Shark_Girl.

Dude that's not very helpful of you!

Have you seen the custom diver one? There was plenty of D rings on the one i saw yesterday. I think it had intergrated weights though. Not actually owning a wing at all i'm prob not the best person to advise! I'm sure someone more helpful than me and the Dud will be along soon though

Frog or Halcyon either are great bits of kit...given the choice i would go for Frog as you get the same thing with one hell of a saving when compared to Halcyons inflated prices. Both are modular in design so the wing can be changed to suit cylinder choice.

Here?

The backplate is a steel OMS, the harness made up. Have a look at the stuff Bowstone sell and with a bit of webbing, some pockets, shoulder pads, break(s), etc., you can make a harness as you want it?

Have used it with single 10, twin 7s, twin 12s and stage bottle.

A.

My old school Buddy tekwing has been very good. Out of the box its fine for singles, as there is a strap thingy to reduce tank wrap. i now have a CD steel plate and a lovely set of beaver twin 10's, with decent valves and bands (big thanks to Niknaks ) with the original harness and wing. I did struggle with keeping my head above the water in the pool yesterday, when fully inflated, but this was with no suit, which should make a big difference, as the wing ain't small. Best of all, the tekwing is very well priced.

Phil

PS, I can't recommend the beaver 10's with V4 bands and manifold from Niknaks highly enough. The trim is sooooooo much better than with Fabers, and there a bit longer so you can rest them behind you when you sit down, but still reach the valves.

Great single tank set up for sale , and will easily migrate to twin set later

poseidon has a recall at the moment for a bladder problem.
i saw one at the nec show. the blokes couldnt be bothered to show its benefit.
didnt like them, too many tiny setup adjustment clips.

i'm using a zeagle tech. love it.
theyre now made with trim pockets
i have use an additional weight belt fastened to the tank, but have superb trim underwater +on surface.

my buddy uses a buddy tek wing +loves it.
i prefer pockets to stow things in.

Thanks chaps, that's given me a few more places to look around. Think I'll make some trips to dive shops this week seeing as I have nothing else to do, and see what happens. One more question - I know there will be no definitive answer, but diving on twin 10s, with a drysuit, how much lift should I aim to buy into? What would be sufficient??

Thanks,

El.
